SPONSOR SPEAK – DARA KAHANE, BAYVIEW GLEN DAY CAMP

According to Ellen: When our youngest sons, both named Ben were just two years old they bonded as friends and so did Dara and I. The Bens are inseparable! Five years ago, Dara and I were sitting in Jacob’s room as I was contemplating where to send Jacob for camp. Her reaction, ?He’ll go to Bayview Glen of course! Since that discussion Jacob has loved every second of his five summers at Bayview Glen. Dara made the impossible possible as she showed us that Jacob can do anything, just a little differently! Thank you Dara, the Kahane family and Bayview Glen for playing such a major role in Jacob’s life and ours.

According to Dara:

How did you come to be involved with Jacob’s Ladder?

I was lucky enough to develop a friendship with Ellen through our youngest sons. I knew from the moment that I met Jacob and the rest of the Schwartz’s that I wanted to be part of the magic, teaching and outreach!

What does your affiliation with Jacob’s Ladder and (Jake’s Gigantic Give specifically) bring to you?

I am so lucky that I get to spend 4 weeks at camp with Jacob. Campers, staff and parents have watched him grow over the past 6 years. I have watched campers, staff and parents develop incredible acceptance and passion for children with special needs. It is one of the best parts of Bayview Glen Day Camp.
