According to Ellen: The friendship with Laurie and her husband Frank goes back years and years from prom dates to family vacations to summers on the lake. Laurie constantly amazes us with her high energy, love of life, strong determination and deep rooted friendship. Frank and Westbury National graciously donate all the screens, sound, lighting and staging at our events while Laurie enthusiastically ramps up our Wishing Well prize with a star studded walk down the red carpet at a screening of a new and hot movie from Alliance Films Inc.. We cherish these old friends and are so grateful for their generosity.

How did you come to be involved with Jacob’s Ladder? Ellen and I have been friends for years. I have known Jacob since he was a baby and knew the challenges they faced as a family. When Ellen and Jeff launched Jacob’s Ladder, I was inspired and motivated and knew I wanted to help in any way possible.

What does your affiliation with Jacob’s Ladder and (Jake’s Gigantic Give specifically) bring to you? Jacob’s Ladder is an amazing charity for an incredible cause, bringing together the community to support genetic testing to help kids like Jacob and their families everywhere. Jake’s Gigantic Give is a wonderful event, which teaches kids the power of giving, and inspires everyone to get involved, be passionate, and give back to their community. Being a part of it all is extremely rewarding.

What does giving mean to you? Giving means sharing, whether it’s your money, your time, your expertise, your smile, or your touch. Giving is getting, because when you give you get back much more in return.

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Perfect happiness is being with my family and friends, enjoying life, every single day.

Which living person do you most admire? Ellen Schwartz (seriously, she’s up there)

Who are your heroes in real life? My children, as they teach me lessons every single day.

What is your dream job (other than the one that you have?) Most rewarding job – running a worldwide charity like Bill Gates. Most fun – acting in the films we produce. Most zen – working on a kibbutz in Israel.

What is the natural talent you would like to be gifted with? Athletic ability so I can keep up with my kids.
